FAQ

Does your patch works with frontend editing in K2?

Yes. If you enable front end editing, you will be able to assign a K2 item to multiple categories. To do this go to Admin area, Components, K2, User groups. Then click on add a new group and assign frontend editing permissions and categories. Next, go to users tab and assign a user to the new group. Once this is done you should be able to edit K2 items via frontend.

How to show all categories for an item in "Published in" section?

You can access array of all categories assigned to an item via $this->item->categories within any k2 template file (ie category_item.php or item.php). You should use a code similar to the example below to display those:

        <div class="catItemCategory">
            <span><?php echo JText::_('K2_PUBLISHED_IN'); ?></span><br >
            <?php foreach ($this->item->categories as $category) {?>
            <a href="/<?php echo $category->link; ?>"><?php echo $category->name; ?></a><br >
            <?php } ?>
        </div>

New version of K2 just released. When will you update this patch?

We aim to release an updated version of the multi categories patch within one week of new K2 version.

Do you have this patch for older version of K2?

We only maintain this patch for the latest version of K2, but we can create a custom patch for any version of K2 on demand for a small fee.

I have a module which does not work with your patch. Can you help?

Yes, we can update any 3rd party module for a small fee to work with K2 multi categories patch.
